This is the moment police removed a Just Stop Oil protester from a gantry at junction 25 on the M25. Officers had to use a cherry picker to get the activist down near the Waltham Cross Interchange, footage shows. Police vans and cars can be seen surrounding the base of the gantry while the machine and a ladder are moved into position. The Metropolitan Police confirmed a person was arrested at junction 25 this morning (10/11) for causing a public nuisance. And an anonymous onlooker said: “I think [the protester] was there from about 7am or 7.30am. “It was at junction 25 on the M25 and the road was closed – I got stuck in traffic and then managed to avoid it by going a different way. “The protestor had climbed to the top – it was quite scary actually – and he was sitting at the top with his flag and everything. “All the police were at the bottom with a cherry picker, they extended it with two people in there to try and get them to come down. “They got him down safely and then someone else went up there and got the banner down. “It took ages to arrest him and put him in the van, he wasn’t resisting arrest just going slowly. “I was kind of shocked to see him that high – I don’t know if he had attached himself to the actual frame of the sign, I’d hope so for his safety. “It was scary – I was really worried for them.”
