Garden Report: Celtics Bury Knicks 133-118 in Historic Performance
  • last year
The Celtics travel to Madison Square Garden to take on the New York Knicks. Before the game, the Celtics announced that Al Horford would miss the game against the Knicks due to lower back soreness, and as it turns out, Luke Kornet ended up missing the game as well due to personal reasons. With the two top centers available down for the count, Boston turned to veteran Blake Griffin for the evening as the team went smaller against New York, sans Mitchell Robinson.

In what turned out to be a high scoring affair, Boston pulled off a convincing 133-118 win at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night, driven by an offensive barrage from beyond the arc. The Celtics shot significantly less threes against the Bulls, and versus the Knicks, they went in the opposite direction. The results were astounding, as the team set a new franchise record for most made three pointers in a game with a whopping 27 makes on over 50% from range. Sam Hauser had a standout game off the bench for Boston, notching a career-high 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting.
