Tulsi Vivah is the ceremonial marriage between the Tulsi plant, which is the holy basil plant, and the Hindu Lord Vishnu or his Avatar Lord Krishna. The people performing the Puja observe a fast till the evening when the ceremony is performed. It is mostly observed by married women for their families and childless couples for children. Unmarried women also perform the Puja for a suitable groom. People chant Mantras and perform Aarti, which is followed by the distribution of Prasad at the end of the ceremony.
