The King has hosted a reception at Buckingham Palace to mark the 50th anniversary of the arrival of British Asians from Uganda to the United Kingdom. The reception was followed by a ceremony presented by veteran journalists Jonathan Dimbleby and Jon Snow and featured speakers including Archbishop Lord Sentamu. A performance by the Westend Gospel Choir concluded the ceremony. During the reception former Channel 4 News presenter Snow joined others in singing ‘Oh Uganda, Land of Beauty’ to His Majesty.
