The Nobel Prize in Literature Awarded to Annie Ernaux

NBC News reports that the French author was announced as this year's winner on Oct. 6, 2022 in Stockholm, Sweden.
The Nobel committee recognized her for “the courage and clinical acuity with which she uncovers the roots, estrangements and collective restraints of personal memory.”
"In her writing, Ernaux consistently and from different angles, examines a life marked by strong disparities regarding gender, language and class. Her path to authorship was long and arduous." Via nobelprize.org.

Swedish scientist Svante Pääbo won the award in medicine for discovering new information about Neanderthal DNA.
On Oct. 4, 2022 John Clauser, Alain Aspect and Anton Zeilinger won the prize in physics for their work on quantum information science.
On Oct. 5, 2022 Carolyn R. Bertozzi, Morten Meldal and K. Barry Sharpless won the prize in chemistry for developing a way of “snapping molecules together” to help design more efficient drugs.
