Ukrainian officials say Russia has launched massive missile strikes across the country, causing power and water outages. People in the capital Kyiv say they heard at least five explosions. And this as Ukraine reports fierce fighting in the country's east.

In his nightly address, President Zelenskyy said Ukrainian troops had repelled the latest Russian attacks in the Donetsk region. Fighting there has centered on the strategically important town of Bakhmut, which Russian forces have been trying to capture for weeks.
