SCOTUS Temporarily Blocks Release , of Trump Tax Records to House Democrats.
Fox News reports that Justice John Roberts granted a stay on Nov. 1. .
The stay temporarily prevents Democrats on the House Ways and Means Committee from gaining access to Trump's tax records.
The committee has been asked to respond before noon on Nov. 10.
In 2019, the committee asked to see six years worth of the former president's tax returns.
Last year, the Justice Department agreed that Congress should be able to obtain the records.
Trump's legal team has appealed that decision.
Last December, U.S. District Judge Trevor McFadden ruled that the tax returns should be turned over by the Treasury Department.
In August of this year,
a federal appeals court agreed.
Fox News reports that last week, the D.C. Circuit Court turned down Trump's request to halt the release of the documents. .
