Former Tata Steel MD, Jamshedji J Irani, affectionately referred as the ''Steel Man of India', passed away at Tata Main Hospital in Jamshedpur last night. He was of 86 years of age. He had a reputation for steering the conglomeration through severe crises. He was associated with Tata Steel for 43 long years and had retired from the board of Tata Steel in June 2011.
