The new mobile app for Steam looks much better

Since purchasing a Steam Deck, The Steam iOS app has been used quite a bit, but every time we opened it, the UI seemed dated because the overall design hadn't been updated in a very long time. It appears that Valve felt the same way because it is now beta testing a new version of the program that looks radically different and, in my opinion, radically superior.

The changes are instantly noticeable, at least in my quick testing on iOS, and Valve specifically emphasized the new design as one of the app's important new features in a blog post. For instance, the app now features a bottom-of-screen navigation bar where you can access areas like the shop, your news feed, and the Steam Guard section.

However, the app has more than just a fresh coat of paint; it is constructed on a "new framework" and includes several new features. fave of mine? Now, you can login into your Steam account by scanning a QR code from the Steam Guard area, much like you can do with the Discord mobile app. Additionally, according to Valve, the new Steam app "includes smarter alerts, an enhanced Library, and multi account support." You can still perform tasks like browse the shop and verify transactions.

The app isn't yet readily accessible since Valve is still beta testing it on iOS and Android. If you want to try the beta, just follow the instructions on Valve's website. However, if you're using iOS, be aware that there are only a limited amount of seats available because of Apple's TestFlight limitations.
