United States Vice President Kamala Harris on October 25 said that Diwali reminded everyone to shine in the darkness to fight for peace and justice.

She said, “Diwali reminds us to see the light in our world in each other and in ourselves. We are also reminded to shine our light in the darkness to fight for peace and justice, and for understanding even as powerful forces work to show hate and division. We remember that in these moments where we see the darkness our light shines the brightest.”
