Now it's Mordaunt the Movie: Downing Street hopeful Penny publishes soft focus campaign video that she says reveals 'the real me' - someone who 'enjoys a pie and a pint' and whose mother died when she was 15

In the soft focus video, Penny Mordaunt talks about the 'amazing things' she has done in her life, including going to 'war zones in humanitarian hotspots' and having a 'seat at the table at the World Bank and NATO', but failed to mention her 2014 stint on ITV diving show Splash. The Downing Street hopeful, who backers say brings unity and stability, currently has the backing of 22 MPs to be the next PM, 78 shy of the 100 needed to be on the ballot for Monday's leadership vote. The video posted on Twitter shows Ms Mordaunt talking about how she looked after her family when her mother died when she was 15 years old and they 'relied on the NHS'. Talking about being from Portsmouth, she says: 'It's a military city with a proud history. It's patriotic, it's passionate about football, it likes a pie and a pint, and quite frankly so do I.'
