The U.S Coast Guard patrol boat first came across a Chinese guided missile cruiser . The Chinese Navy ship was spotted sailing around 138km north of Alaska's Kiska Island . A U.S C - 130 Hercules provided air support ; it turned out the Chinese ship wasn't alone . 2 other Chinese naval ships & 4 Russian naval vessels were spotted in single formation . One of the four Russian naval ships in the formation was a destroyer . The U.S boat observed as the Russian & Chinese ships broke formation & dispersed .
