Born in the Bronx, he began his career with the team when it was located in Brooklyn. He made the move when the Dodgers left for Los Angeles after the 1957 season. The 2016 season was his last in the broadcast booth. Scully also called classic moments on national television including the 49ers-Cowboys NFC title game featuring The Catch on CBS and Game 6 of the 1986 World Series on NBC.
