Last-minute Chaos in Leeds Versus Arsenal as Penalty Overturned and ‘Gabriel Magheales Kicks Out

CHAOS reigned at Elland Road when Leeds were awarded a stoppage time penalty against Arsenal - only for VAR to overturn it.

Gunners defender Gabriel Magalhaes was dramatically sent off in added time for appearing to kick out at Patrick Bamford.

The pair clashed as Bamford took exception to Gabriel's challenge as he tried to close down on Ramsdale.

Referee Chris Kavanagh originally pointed to the spot and gave Gabriel his marching orders after speaking to his assistant referee.

But Kavanagh was then called to consult the monitor to check for a foul on Gabriel by Bamford in the build up.

And in an incredible ending to the game Gabriel's red card, and the penalty, were both OVERTURNED to leave Leeds boss Jesse Marsch outraged.

Bamford was judged to have pushed Gabriel in the back, which then resulted in the defender kicking out at the Leeds striker.

Gabriel's card was then downgraded from a red to a yellow for unsporting behaviour.

In a pulsating ending to the game, Arsenal eventually managed to cling on for all three points.

It came after the game was suspended for 40 minutes because of a POWER CUT.

Ref Kavanagh halted the action just seconds after kick off when he couldn't communicate with his VAR team.

Both teams were sent back to the dressing rooms before play resumed after a 40 minute delay.

Bukayo Saka scored the winner to give Arsenal a ninth win in 10 Premier League games.

It was a fourth goal in just three games for the England ace and maintained Arsenal's spot at the top of the league.
