About Soup Web Series,
Loosely based on a true-life incident, Soup is the story of Swathi Shetty (Konkona Sensharma), an incompetent cook who dreams of having a restaurant of her own someday and her suspicious husband, Prabhakar (Manoj Bajpayee) who won’t help with her aspirations and has doubts of his own. Soon fate gives her an opportunity and she starts to cook up a master plan. Manoj Bajpayee will be seen playing the role of Prabhakar Shetty and acclaimed actress Konkona Sen Sharma will be featured as his wife Swathi Shetty. It will also feature prominent South Indian stars Naseer and Lal, and versatile actor Savaji Shinde.

The series is directed by acclaimed filmmaker Abhishek Chaubey who in the past, delivered many hit films and series such as Ishqiya, Dedh Ishqiya, Udta Punjab, Sonchiriya, Raat Akeli Hai, and Ray. He along with Unaiza Merchant, Anant Tripathi, and Harshad Nalawade also wrote the screenplay of the series.

This series marks the third collaboration Chaubey with Netflix, after the Crime thriller film Raat Akeli Hai and anthology drama web series Ray. Manoj Bajpayee is also working with the director for the third time after Ray and Sonchiriya.

Netflix’s this dark-comedy crime series is produced by Honey Trehan and Chetana Kowshk under the banner of Macguffin Pictures. We can expect, the announcement regarding the release date of the series as well as its teaser/trailer in the upcoming days.
