Consider This: Rental Housing (Part 2) - Home Ownership Gap in the Klang Valley
  • 2 tahun lalu
Rental housing has long been a neglected area of our national housing policy, which has instead focused, often exclusively, on promoting home ownership. But in cities and towns across Malaysia, a significant proportion of residents are tenants who—for various reasons—rent, rather than own, the housing unit in which they dwell. What are the challenges that renter-households face in Malaysia, and how might policies better support those who rent, whether out of choice or necessity? Melisa Idris speaks to Fikri Fisal, Researcher from the think tank, The Centre, and lead author of a three-part research series to explore the experiences, challenges, and aspirations of renter-households in Malaysia.
