September 17, 2022: On the weekend edition of the KTLA Morning News, anchor Mark Mester takes the station to task for having entertainment reporter Sam Rubin announce the departure of 24-year broadcast veteran Lynette Romero, who left the station to pursue another television opportunity earlier this month.

“I don’t know who wrote the script. I don’t know who handed it to Sam Rubin. Regardless, this was a mistake. We owe you an apology,” Mester said during the Saturday morning broadcast.
