On Saturday 4th September 2022, Chileans will vote whether or not to accept a new constitution. The results of the referendum will likely extend far past its borders, as Chile’s constitutional process to build a more inclusive, participatory, and responsive democratic system is being closely watched around the world. Melisa Idris speaks to expert on Latin American and Chilean politics, Peter Siavelis, Professor of Political Science and International Affairs at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
