Elderly woman warms the hearts of funeralgoers in Windsor by waving to the crowds from her window

An elderly woman was spotted near Windsor Great Park during the Queen's funeral waving off mourners as they left the area. The ray of positivity warmed the hearts of thousands online and hundreds in the crowd with some claiming she was waving for hours. Tash Courtenay-Smith, 45, captured the moment while mourning the passing of Queen Elizabeth II with her mother and children. Tash, the CEO at a growth agency, said that it was one of the "cutest things she'd ever seen" and claimed that the woman cheered up all 100,000 people who attended the event in the park. "As we came out, we saw people waving and looked up and saw a little old lady sitting at her window waving and waving. "I noticed her when I saw my daughter stopped in front of me waving up at something and I looked and saw this sweet old lady. "Everyone was saying 'aw,' and 'oh my god' and waving and smiling at her. "I shot the footage at 4.40 pm and people have commented that they left the park at 6 pm and she was still waving." Tash was spending the day with her mother Shelagh, 73, and daughter Annelise, 9,and son Finley, 14, to pay their respects to the late monarch. "We walked from Dorney to Windsor Great Park, which took over an hour. "We arrived at 11 am after setting off just after 9 and we had a family walk there and bought a picnic." She said that despite it being such a bleak and solemn day, the woman in the window cheered everyone up and reminded them of the Queen herself. "I think both myself and the entire crowd felt that she was lovely and it was a lovely positive ending to a day that had had some very sad moments, especially for all of us in the park watching the very final part of the Queen's journey. "We all felt genuinely moved by the old lady and also, she in some way reminded us all of the Queen. "She was elderly like the queen and also waving in a very regal manner, and of course from a balcony! "It totally cheered everyone up, it was almost one of those moments that, after all, feeling bleak, restored our faith in humanity and community and epitomised some of the Queen's own values." The video garnered nearly 10,000 likes and was viewed over 100,000 times with many who were there commenting that they had seen her.
