Bengali filmmaker Mrinal Sen sits in on edit of his film
  • 2 years ago
Bengali filmmaker Mrinal Sen sits in on the edit of his film. This is good old-fashioned 35 mm linear film editing which was used in the olden days of filmmaking. The reel of the film rolls on a spool while Mrinal Sen reads the script of the film. He tries to figure out the dialogues and final cut in the reel. The editor pastes the blank reel with the original film reel.

Editor plays the reel on a small monitor and Mrinal Sen checks the sequence and the shots. The editor cuts the rejected shots from the reel and pastes the final cut shots with the original reel.
