King Charles III and his siblings sit alongside their mother's coffin after somber march through Edinburgh: Royals watch as Queen's 500-year-old crown is placed on Scottish flag-draped casket

King Charles III , Princess Anne , Prince Andrew and Prince Edward had followed Her Majesty's hearse along the Scottish capital's Royal Mile before the service at St Giles' Cathedral this afternoon. It was the first time the monarch had been seen with his mother's coffin since she died at Balmoral on Thursday. She was taken to the Palace of Holyroodhouse yesterday evening before travelling the 1,200 yards to the service of remembrance. King Charles walked solemnly in step with his brothers and sister behind the Queen. The assembled well-wishers fell silent as the hearse appeared. The crowd then broke out in spontaneous applause as the cortège approached and many shouted God Save the King and God Save the Queen.
