Chelsea Pensioners share memories of Queen Elizabeth II
  • 2 years ago
The late Queen Elizabeth II had an especially close relationship with members of the British Armed Forces, of which she was commander-in-chief. In 2017, ITV News’ Nina Hossain visited the Royal Chelsea Hospital - a retirement home for some 300 veterans of the British Army - and met three of the residents to hear their stories of the time they spent with the Queen. One of those residents - Ray Huggins - has since died. However, he explicitly wanted his story to be shared and his family confirmed this after the death of the Queen. Report by Jonesia.
