CNN reports that Mayor Muriel Bowser
made the declaration on Sept. 8.
She also revealed that a new government office will be established to provide support to migrants.
$10 million will be allocated to
the new Office of Migrant Services.
Mayor Bowser said she'll seek reimbursement for some of those funds via the
Federal Emergency Management Agency.
