Reserve Bank Australia Governor defends his handling of inflation crisis

Reserve Bank governor Philip Lowe says he has no plans to resign amid criticism of his handling of inflation in Australia. There have been calls for Mr Lowe to step down in the wake of five consecutive interest rate rises as consumers contend with surging prices on goods and services. Mr Lowe says he understands the pressure the rate hikes put on borrowers but insists it's the result of decisions which benefited Australia during the pandemic.
