In this video, we have depicted our visit to a 100 years old eatery at Kannur whose name is Onakkan Bharathi. The food joint is very near to Kannur railway station. Now, the third generation is running this shop. There are several items available here which are all traditional foods of Kerala.
At day time, more items are available. You can see how traditionally puttu is made here. Puttu is a staple food of Kerala which is made of rice flour and grated coconut.
Other that puttu, Upma, Kappa (made of tapioca), Idiyappam and Appam are available here as staples.
In main course, Mutton Chops and Mutton Liver curry are most famous at this food joint. One new way of eating we learnt here i.e. we saw people savouring Upma with Green Moong Daal (Lentil).
We tasted Puttu, Upma, Green Moong Daal, Mutton Chops, Mutton Liver Curry. Papad and Lemon Tea here. Overall we paid ₹450 here. Prices are quite reasonable and food is very delicious and authentic here.
