Part 1: Cookie Monster sleeps over in Bert's bed at Ernie and Bert's apartment (as Ernie explains that Bert is visiting his grandmother). After Ernie turns off the light, Cookie Monster is scared about a monster in the corner, but Ernie points out that it's just a toy chest covered by a shaggy blanket. Cookie ends up sleeping in Ernie's bed.
Part 2: Cookie Monster returns to Bert's bed. As Ernie and Cookie Monster both say goodnight, Cookie falls fast asleep. In a dream sequence, Cookie is at a bakery shop, with a group of cookies flying around and singing about different kinds of cookies, which frightens Cookie Monster. After Cookie wakes up from the nightmare, Ernie reassures Cookie that he was just having a bad dream. So, Ernie gives Cookie a plate of cookies, which scares Cookie, resulting in him running out through the door. Ernie says to the viewers "Cookie Monster afraid of cookies? I don't believe that." Cookie Monster returns, replying "Me don't believe it either" and proceeding to eat the cookies. Written by Sonia Manzano. (who played Maria)
