The toss favoured Australia and they decided to bowl in the first ODI. A brilliant Aussie bowling unit restricted Zimbabwe to just 200 runs in 47.3 overs with Cameron Green picking up a fifer. The chase went well for Australia as David Warner scored an important half-century and Maxwell's fireworks in the last few overs gave them a pleasing five-wicket victory.
