So in this video, I'm letting my viewers get to understand what is happening in kenya as of now.
We just had our elections on the 8th of August 2022, the votes were tallied most of the Governors, Senators, Members of Parliament, e. t. c. who did not win conceaded defeat while those who won were celebrating with their supporters.
Now, the only difference was with the presidential results which were to be announced by the IEBC Chairman Prof. Wafula Chebukati at the Bkmas of Kenya within 7 days after the election day.
According to Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chairman Professor Wafula Chebukati, Kenya Kwanza Party Leader William Samuei Ruto was the winner so Chebukati declared him as the president elect of of the republic of Kenya.
Now, the Azimio la Umoja Party Leader and former Prime Minister of the republic of Kenya Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga together with his supporters and some of the returning officers were of the opinion that the presidential results were not adding up, and that they were not correctly tallied and so the president elect Dr. William Samuei Ruto did not attain the 50+1% of the total votes as required by the constitution of Kenya, so he was not supposed to be the president elect.
The Azimio la Umoja Party Leader Raila Amolo Odinga together with his lawyers filed a case at the Supreme Court against the IEBC's chairman Professor Wafula Chebukati and Kenya kwanza Party Leader William Samoei Ruto for discrepancies on the results.
Madam Cherera the Deputy chairperson of IEBC together with four other returning ofdicers differed with the results on the day the president elect was to be declared terming them as 'opeque results'
Now the case is with the Supreme Court. We are waiting for the Chief Justice madam Koome together with other judges to give us the way forward.
Will they order for the results to be tallied again? Will they nullify them, or are we going back to the bullot? We don't know for now but let's wait and see.
