Dennis Rodman Is No Longer Going , to Russia to Help Brittney Griner.
WNBA star Brittney Griner was recently sentenced to 9 years in Russian prison on drug charges.
She was arrested at a Russian airport in February for having cannabis vape cartridges in her luggage. .
'ET' reports that last week, Rodman told NBC News
that he "got permission to go to Russia to help that girl.".

On Aug. 22, Ned Price, State Department spokesperson, issued a statement.

'ET' reports that after that statement was issued, Rodman backpedaled on his decision to make the trip.
This isn't the first time Rodman has gotten involved with controversial world leaders.
