The Supreme Court on Thursday read a report filed by a five-member committee headed by a retired top court judge, Justice Indu Malhotra, as per which Ferozepur SSP failed to discharge his duty to maintain law and order during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Punjab visit.

CJI NV Ramana said, "Report says SSP Ferozpur failed to discharge his responsibilities to maintain law and order even though he was aware people had gathered." It was informed that the PM would be taking that route but SSP Firozpur failed to act on that.
