Construction firms collapsing after costs increase

Across the country builders are going broke, leaving thousands jobless and many Australians with unfinished homes and huge debts. Ironically some builders have been busier than ever, but most are losing money on each home they build because of fixed price contracts previously quoted, which are now below the higher costs of both materials and labour.
