External affairs minister S Jaishankar on August 17 said that India carefully monitors all developments in its neighborhood. The comment comes after the Chinese ballistic missile and satellite tracking ship, Yuan Wang 5, arrived on August 16 at Hambantota port, Sri Lanka. Both India and the United States have opposed the visit of Yuan Wang 5 to Hambantota port.
