Rescue work underway in flood-affected areas of Surat

As heavy rain continued to lash parts of Gujarat’s Surat on August 17, affected people were moved to safe places. “Rescue work is underway in Surat where people were shifted to safe places. Over 15 inches of rainfall has been recorded in last 48 hours. We've installed a dewatering pump and 7 tractors to take water out,” informed Commissioner of Surat Municipal Corporation Banchhanidhi Pani.
