How Mountbatten became 1st Governor-General of free India

On 15 August 1947, there was tremendous excitement about the country's first Independence Day celebrations. The Constituent Assembly proposed that Lord Mountbatten be made the first Governor General of independent India. After that, freedom fighter Hansa Mehta presented the national flag.
