BJP LOSING HIMACHAL PRADESH ELECTIONS 2022 WHAT DOES THIS DATA SAY EPISODE 57

"Problems for the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) are increasing by the day. The firefighting for the 2024 General Elections has already begun.
None of the recent political events give any comfort to the BJP. In any case, the party is quite infamous for dropping allies like a hot potato once their utility is over. Recently, Shekhar Gupta, in one of his programs on ThePrint said that the BJP has dumped nineteen (19) allies after the 2014 elections.

He forgot three more – Mehbooba Mufti of the PDP who was their ally when while she was the Chief Minster of Jammu & Kashmir. After August 5th, 2019, when article 370 was abrogated, she has been under arrest.

The BJP has all but forgotten Chirag Paswan. In becoming the ‘Hanuman’ of Modi, and trying to dislodge Nitish Kumar, he only managed to lose his own identity.

Lastly, no one gives any chance to Eknath Shinde. The government will not last long as the BJP is too ambitious and impatient. Shinde will never find a place in the political history of Maharashtra.

The BJP will fight all the coming state elections on its own strength. That is a big worry because except in a couple of states BJP has never won an election on their own.

In 2017 Himachal Pradesh assembly elections BJP did rather well capturing 44 of the 68 seats, with the Congress a distant second with 21 seats. But that was 2017, the post Modi wave period. Today BJP stands a much-weakened party losings several states in the last 5 years. Had it not been for the so-called “Operation Kamal’, BJP would be ruling only in 3 out of 11 states that go to polls before 2024.

This is what makes the Himachal Pradesh election so critical for BJP. Too much of prestige hangs in the balance with BJP stalwarts like JP Nadda and Anurag Thakur being important functionaries of the party. Both belong to Himachal Pradesh.
