Hindu groups seek permission for Ganesh Puja at Bengaluru's Idgah ground, security beefed up

The Karnataka Police on Friday carried out a flag march at Bengaluru's Idgah ground, where some Hindu groups want to hold a puja on Ganesh Chaturthi.

The whole controversy began after some Hindu groups argued that Idgah ground was government property and therefore they should be allowed to hold Ganesh Chaturthi. But Congress objected to the move saying no such puja will be allowed at the maidan and only the Tricolour will be hoisted on Independence Day.
