Taiwan has condmned China for extending military drills off its coast into a fifth day. Taipei also accused Beijing of trying to deliberately provoke a reaction from it. The condemnation followed China's decision to defy calls to end its biggest-ever show of force against the self-governing island.
Chinese jets and ships have been crossing the Taiwan Strait median line and firing missiles over Taipei. The drills began last week, after a visit to Taiwan by US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Beijing considers Taiwan its own territory.
