Authorities on Monday demolished the encroachment at a Noida housing society by Shrikant Tyagi, the self-proclaimed BJP worker in the news for allegedly abusing and assaulting a woman last week.

Bulldozers rolled in at the Grand Omaxe in Noida's Sector 93, where Tyagi had manhandled and hurled expletives at a woman resident after she reportedly confronted him about encroachment by him.

Meanwhile, senior advocate and Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal on Saturday said that he has no hope or expectations left from the Supreme Court at the ‘People’s Tribunal on the Judicial rollback of Civil liberties.’

The senior lawyer also criticised the apex court for the Zakia Jafri case verdict, and said that the court “accepted the report on the basis of the statement of the accused.”
