ED extends custody of Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut till August 8 in Patra Chawl case

A special court in Mumbai has extended the ED custody of Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut in the Patra Chawl scam case till August 8. Raut's Enforcement Directorate (ED) custody, granted by the court on Monday, was due to end on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the probe agency also summoned Sanjay Raut's wife Varsha in connection with the case. Varsha Raut will appear before the agency for questioning on Friday.
In January this year, Varsha Raut was questioned by the ED in connection with the PMC bank scam case. Varsha Raut's questioning in the case was in connection with a transaction of Rs 55 lakh from one Madhuri Pravin Raut to her account.
