Cyclist Meenakshi RUN OVER by Rival Before Being Taken From Track on Stretcher as Kenny Wins Gold

ANOTHER big crash at the Commonwealth Games saw a cyclist RUN OVER by a rival.
In the horrific incident at the Women's 10K Scratch Race, India's Meenakshi fell off her bike before sliding down the slope of the corner.
New Zealand's Bryony Botha then went straight over her before she went down herself, going headfirst over the handlebars.
Meenakshi was treated at the scene before being carried away on a stretcher as Botha walked away and appeared to be fine.
Fans reacted to the painful incident on social media as one follower wished he was okay.
The race involved British heroine Laura Kenny, who was leading the race before the accident.
He was soon back on track and Kenny put on an impressive performance to win the gold medal for England.
Kenny will be delighted to have entered after nearly withdrawing from the competition as she hinted that the track was too dangerous.
After the race, he called the win his proudest moment.
Since the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, the Herts cyclist was on the verge of giving up cycling after suffering a miscarriage and later undergoing surgery for an ectopic pregnancy after contracting Covid.
The five-time Olympic champion, 30, said: “My best medal so far? In many ways, yes.
“In a way, I'm more proud of that than I am of a lot of the other Olympic medals I've won.
“Having to get through all of that and then trying to step up in front of a hometown crowd.
"When you go through all of that personally, and then everyone here wanted to see me cross the line first, it's a lot of pressure to be under pressure again."

Paramedics had to erect screens to protect Olympic champion omnium Walls as he received treatment as a bloody fan was wheeled away in a wheelchair.
Due to the collision, the morning session was abandoned despite one race remaining.
Fans were left in shock fearing the same thing could happen again, as one tweeted: "Another accident."
