सावन का महीना शिव जी का प्रिय महीना होता है। इस महीने में कई प्रमुख त्योहार पड़ते हैं। इन त्योहारों पर शिव जी परिवार के साथ भगवान शंकर के परम भक्त नाग देवता की पूजा की जाती है। इसे नाग पंचमीकहते हैं। नाग पचंमी का त्योहार सावन माह की शुक्ल पक्ष की पंचमी तिथि को मनाया जाता है। नाग पंचमी के दिन महिलाएं नाग देवता की पूजा करती हैं। इस दिन सांपों को दुध अर्पित किया जाता हैं। महिलाएं इस दिन अपने परिवारजनों के लिए पूजा करती हैं। सनातन धर्म में सर्पों को एक विशेष स्थान प्राप्त है। नाग देवताओं की पूजा के लिए कुछ दिनों को काफी शुभ माना जाता है जिसमें से एक श्रावण मास की पंचमी तिथि है। आईए जानते है इस दिन क्या करना चाहिए क्या नहीं ?
