Housing developers allowed to send storm water into creek

A Melbourne housing and retail development has been given permission to allow untreated storm water to flow into a suburban creek. The 20-hectare Burwood brickworks site was originally supposed to include a wetland to help remove nitrogen from storm water. But that idea was later canned, and environment groups say it means more pollution will find its way into the Yarra River.
