UP: 8 dead, 16 injured after bus accident at Purvanchal expressway

8 people died and 16 got injured after a speeding double-decker bus collided with a stationary bus at Purvanchal expressway near Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh on July 25. The bus was travelling from Bihar to Delhi.
After the incident, 3 people were left severely injured and are reported to be in critical condition. They have been referred to a trauma centre in Lucknow.
“In Purvanchal expressway accident, 8 dead while 16 are injured. Severely injured are sent to the trauma centre, and those with minor injuries are being treated at CHC. The post-mortem of those who died is ongoing. Further investigation is underway,” said Anurag Vats, SP Barabanki, UP.
