Furore over Friday off in schools in Jharkhand’s Jamtara, Uddhav Thackeray backs NDA’s presidential candidate; more

Students of primary schools in two wards of the Jamtara district, Jharkhand, are being given holidays on Fridays instead of Sundays, citing the Muslim population in such schools. These schools are being closed under the garb of the notification which allows Urdu schools to remain closed on Friday. A probe in this regard has been ordered by the state government. Meanwhile, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray has extended his support to NDA's presidential candidate Droupadi Murmu. We are happy that a tribal woman is becoming the President, he said.
