Gilas wraps up first round with bounce back win at home vs. India | Sports Desk

A morale boosting win for Gilas Pilipinas to close out the third window of the FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers. The national men's basketball team beat India here at home, 79-63 bouncing back from their blowout loss to New Zealand last week. Gila dominated on defense picking up 16 steals, and forcing India to commit 24 turnovers.

The Philippines, India, and New Zealand will all advance to the next round of the qualifiers which will begin in August. But regardless of the results, the Philippines is already through to the World Cup since it is one of the host countries, along with Japan and Indonesia. Up next for Gilas is the FIBA Asia Cup which will tip off in Indonesia later this month.

Joining us to go all out on this story are Dwight Ramos and team captain Kiefer Ravena of Gilas Pilipinas.
