Eknath Shinde Sworn In As Maharashtra ‘s New Chief Minister, Thanks BJP for ‘Magnanimity’
  • 2 years ago
The Shiv Sena rebellion against Uddhav Thackeray has resulted in the faction led by Eknath Shinde seemingly winning this round as Shinde was sworn in as the chief minister of Maharashtra in the evening of June 30. Shinde was sworn in by Maharashtra’s Governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari. The swearing in was followed by a Cabinet meeting. The new cabinet is expected to be decided and sworn in over the weekend. Shinde’s elevation to the chief minister’s post came as a surprise to many as the expectation was that Devendra Fadnavis will be made chief minister as the BJP has more MLAs in the legislature.
