Ancient Egyptian Statues

The ancient Egyptians were of the belief that the statues were in the gods reside. Even the statues of the pharaohs were considered living gods. The Egyptians also believed that when the statue was "sitting" it allows the living soul and stand out in the day.

The statues of Gods and Pharaohs were made from different stones such as granite, basalt, alabaster, limestone, gneiss, gypsum, and Graywacke Gesso. The Egyptians built large statues with a limited number of tools and equipment. Originally flint tools have been used, but they were later replaced by tools made from copper. After the copper, the tools were made from bronze and iron. Statues were also made from a variety of softer stones such as limestone or sandstone. These stones were painted in different colors.
