Outgoing President Rodrigo Duterte meets incoming president Bongbong Marcos at the entrance of the Malacañang Palace, the start of the turnover for the next president.

On inauguration day, tradition states that the president-elect visits Malacañang before the ceremony to pay a courtesy call on the outgoing President. They then go together to the inauguration venue.
