Why do dogs need attention?

Cats are much more independent than dogs, that's a fact!
But how can we explain it?
The dog is a "social animal" because it needs to establish a trusting relationship with its master and to feel the owner's affection.
Dogs also have difficulty bearing loneliness beyond 4 to 5 hours without company.
Here's how your pet can show his need for attention:
- He barks or squeaks in an annoying way.
- He's making trouble.
- He follows you everywhere and sticks to you.
- He is licking you or tugging at your sleeve or the bottom of your pants...
The dog also needs to socialize with other dogs to thrive.
On the contrary, the cat knows how to show an emotional bond with the human and likes to play with other animals but it's rather solitary and can remain most of the time alone, without feeling any need.
