Russian claims that this video shows multiple rocket-launching vehicles hitting Ukrainian targets. The footage appears to show Russian soldiers deploying BM-21 'Grad' vehicles and calibrating their targeting devices before they open fire.
From the video footage it appears to show one of the vehicles, with the letter 'Z' on its side, firing a salvo of missiles at an unknown target before moving to another location as the footage ends. The 'Z' is one of the symbols, as well as the letters 'V' and 'O' that can be seen painted on Russian military vehicles that took part in the invasion of Ukraine.
In the recording, a soldier named Vladislav by Russian state media, said: "Our rocket artillery successfully fulfilled the combat mission to defeat the enemy. And we need to carry out this mission in different locations. "Therefore, we often change firing positions; to prevent the loss of our personnel and the destruction of our equipment.
"Therefore, we have to work in different conditions, day and night. to take a firing position, determine some targets that are planned to change our location. We are all used to it; we are all trained. We did everything very quickly; everything was very easy to control."
Ministry of Defense of Russia (Sergei Shoigu); claimed in a statement obtained on Monday morning, June 27, that the images show "the combat work of the crew of the 'Grad' rocket launch system of the Western Military District in the performance of a firing mission to destroy the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine."
"After the firing is complete, the MLRS crew leaves the firing position. To carry out MLRS BM-21 "Grad" reloads which are carried out in the reserve area, after which they move to a new firing position to strike at the new identified targets.
We have not been able to independently verify the claims of the Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD) from a statement in one of its recordings. Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24; referred to as "special military operations". Today marks the 124th day of the invasion.
